First home buyers grant (2017-18 Financial Year)

In layman’s terms,You are NOT entitled to the Grant if you, or your spouse/partner, have previously purchased (AND occupied) a house in Australia.

If you are purchasing an ESTABLISHED Home: $0 (Unfortunately, there is no current Grant if buying an established home but please read Stamp Duty below as you will still benefit from being a first home buyer).

If you are buying a newly built home: $10,000 Grant or If you wish to buy land and build: $10,000 Grant. If you are in a regional area (Wonthaggi and surrounds is a YES) then add $10,000 to the above $10,000 = $20,000 FHOG

The Grant will be released to you at Base stage during the build or at settlement date for a house and land package/purchase of newly built home.

Stamp duty concessions

From 01/07/2017, a 100% rebate is now available for First Home Buyers (for both new and established homes).

As long as both applicants are First Home Buyers and the purchase price is under $600k, you will pay NO stamp duty. NADA! NOTHING! ZIP! This is great news as you have just saved thousands of dollars!
